Orange Spain Expands Partnership with Google Cloud to Industrialize AI Operations with Gemini Enterprise
October 8, 2026

The collaboration enables Orange Spain to deploy over 1,000 custom AI agents, driving digital transformation and widespread employee adoption

MADRID and SUNNYVALE, Calif. — Oct. 8,  2026 — Orange Spain, the leading telecommunications operator in Spain, and Google Cloud today announced an expanded strategic partnership to accelerate its digital transformation. By transitioning from isolated pilots to a comprehensive, enterprise-wide "AI Factory," Orange Spain has deployed more than 1,000 custom AI agents using Google Cloud's Gemini Enterprise, optimizing internal operations and helping customer care teams resolve customer requests faster across Spain.

To support this operational scale, Orange Spain is putting AI capabilities directly into the hands of its employees, empowering its workforce to manage the complex data environments generated by modern telecom networks.. Built on Gemini Enterprise's low-code framework, these capabilities lower the barrier to entry for non-technical staff, which helps prevent bottlenecks in the IT department and distributes custom agent creation throughout the organization. This allows employees to automate daily workflows while maintaining robust enterprise-grade security and centralized control over agent orchestration.

"Our partnership with Google Cloud is a key enabler of our long-term strategic vision," said Miguel Santos, CTO at  Orange Spain "By leveraging Gemini Enterprise as a central platform, we are simplifying legacy operational complexities and giving our business areas greater agility. Google Cloud's robust infrastructure and advanced AI allow us to streamline operations, drive sustainable efficiencies, and deliver groundbreaking services that keep us at the forefront of telecommunications innovation in Spain."

"Agentic AI marks a fundamental shift in how modern telecommunications companies operate, moving them from passive monitoring to dynamic, goal-oriented automation," said Isaac Hernández, country manager Iberia, Google Cloud. "Orange Spain is setting a benchmark for the telecom sector by demonstrating how Google’s AI technologies can augment existing systems to solve real-world engineering, legal, and commercial challenges. We are proud to expand our partnership to help Orange Spain deliver faster, more resilient network services and exceptional experiences to their millions of customers."

Democratizing agentic AI at enterprise scale

To drive operational excellence and democratize technology, Orange Spain has assigned Gemini Enterprise licenses across major business areas, achieving a near 100% license activity rate within 30 days. This rollout has established a mature "citizen developer" culture, where employees have actively built more than 1,000 custom AI agents across key business domains, including human resources, IT, sales activities, and customer service.

These custom agents are actively used across Orange Spain’s operations to:

  • Automate incident triage: Streamline the identification, categorization, and routing of technical issues.
  • Conduct system root-cause analysis: Analyze system logs and diagnostics to quickly isolate the source of network or service disruptions.
  • Simplify knowledge access: Help employees find internal corporate knowledge and navigate complex inquiries using natural language.
  • Enhance request management: Automate routine internal service tasks and operational requests.

Underpinned by unified data excellence
The rapid scale of Orange Spain's agentic platform is built upon a strong data foundation developed with Google Cloud since 2018. By reducing data silos and consolidating its data warehouse on BigQuery and its data lake on Google Cloud Storage, Orange Spain successfully unified millions of data points generated per second.

To ensure accuracy, Orange Spain’s AI Factory leverages retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) and semantic search. This framework ensures custom agents query internal corporate knowledge using natural language, returning responses that are grounded in Orange Spain's verified corporate data.
